Data Scientist

Tom is a Data Scientist at DEFCON AI. Prior to DEFCON AI, Tom worked for Peraton at the Army Analytics Group Research Facilitation Laboratory (AAG/RFL). There, he supported the HQDA Army Reserve Directorate in solving some of the biggest challenges in behavioral science, including improving soldier readiness and resilience by assessing a soldier’s risk of suicide. He also provided various Data Science support to programs analyzing insider threat in the military and COVID vaccine distribution optimizations. Prior to Peraton, he worked for Northrop Grumman on the GSSC Minute Man III programs at Hill Air Force Base where he developed Bayesian processes to predict system repairs and support the reliability, maintainability, and sustainability of those systems. Tom has applied Data Science in many situations, including as a freelancer where he implemented Bayesian Reinforcement Learning algorithms for Automobile manufacturing plants. He obtained his BS in Statistics (Emp. Statistical Science) from Brigham Young University.
